Are you recruitable?

What's your Recruitability Quotient™?

Complete the following questionaire right now to find out.

1. On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being I'm never leaving this job, and 10 being Get me out of here tomorrow how would you rate yourself? (1-10)

a: 1-3 I'm not leaving till they throw me out
b: 4-6 Pretty darn happy, but I'd look at something interesting
c. 7-10 Get me out of here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Are you employed today?

a. Yes in my industry
b. Yes, but I'm now doing something a little different
c. No

3. Did you meet or exceed your quota over the past three years?

a: Way over quota all three years
b: over quota at least one of the three
c: Just about at quota, but didn't quite make it any year

4. Do you have an unbroken track record?

a: I've been selling (name your service or product here) for ever
b. I got laid off and it took me 6 months to find something new
c. Funny you should ask, I had to take two years off to ........

Score yourself

1. a = 0, b = 10, c = 3

My experience is that people who are below 5 are not ready to move to another position if you are too eager that usually signals trouble.

2. a = 10, b = 5, c = 0

Are you employed today? - With rare exception, currently employed people are more attractive to companies. Answering no doesn't eliminate you, but it does make it harder for a recruiter to help you find a match. Once you are out of work over 6 months it becomes much harder for a recruiter to submit you for a position. Score (Yes = 10, No = 10 minus 1 for every month you've been unemployed)

3. a = 10, b = 5, c = 0

Did you meet or exceed your quota over the last three years? - No ifs, ands, or buts, allowed here. Everyone in sales occasionally has tough years, however if you are going to be represented by a recruiter, a hiring company is going to look for a unbroken track record where ever possible. If you've had a tough time, consider calling a prospective employer directly.

4. a = 10, b = 5, c = 0

Do you have an unbroken track record? This isn't a always show stopper, but if you've been out of your market place for more than 6 months it becomes much harder for a recruiter to present you.

Rating

35 - 40 - A recruiter could really help you
